Talking to GamesBeat, Spector said it was up to Tencent. There's a long way to go for the remake then, but with System Shock 3 halfway done it's only a waiting game until we get these two titles and can experience the horror all over again, new and old. System Shock 3s creative adviser, Warren Spector, has confirmed 'theres not much more to say at this point' about the beleaguered project. Our expectation is probably Q1 of 2020," Nightdive told PC Gamer last year. "Our intention is to ship exactly the game that was promised, with as much of the features that were promised as we can, in a timeframe that will get it out as fast as we can. It is hard to imagine how or why Tencent would just take the game and seal it off without any of the original talent, though. I always thought it to be ironic that SS3 got sold to a tech conglomerate. This of course means everything is subject to change, but right now the graphical improvements like lighting are looking promising for the sci-fi game. Their shitty claws being on this project seems like a fate worse than death. This gameplay below brings us the Medical Level in all its remade glory, showing off pre-alpha footage from the game as it continues development. Fans of System Shock have had a good week, as not only was there a System Shock 3 teaser at Unity's keynote during the Game Developer Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, but now we have 20 minutes of new gameplay from the remake of the first game, being worked on by Nightdive Studios.
